# Thanos Drossos > Thanos Drossos is an M.Sc. Information Systems student at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) who builds and evaluates AI systems — from LLM-powered applications and NLP pipelines to ongoing research on large language model prompt sensitivity. He is based in Karlsruhe, Germany, and works across applied AI, data science, technology consulting, and (to a lesser degree) finance and regulation. Thanos's focus is implementing AI: conversational LLM applications, NLP and data-extraction pipelines, and applied research. He currently works as a freelance data scientist and software developer at Dark Sky Data LLC, building AI-driven analytics and data products on Snowflake. He holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering (KIT), has studied abroad at UNAM (Mexico City) and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain), and has a peer-reviewed publication on automated market makers. He speaks German (native), plus Greek, English, and Spanish at C1. Reach him via the contact section of his website or on LinkedIn. ## Profiles - [GitHub](https://github.com/ThanosDrossos): code and open-source projects - [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/thanos-drossos): professional profile and experience - [Google Scholar](https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=QCl6vGwAAAAJ&hl=es): academic publications ## Research - [Automated Market Makers: Toward More Profitable Liquidity Provisioning Strategies](https://doi.org/10.1145/3672608.3707833): peer-reviewed paper at the 40th ACM/SIGAPP Symposium on Applied Computing (SAC '25), Catania, Italy - [arXiv preprint 2501.07828](https://arxiv.org/abs/2501.07828): open-access version of the paper. It measures the realised return of 30,058 closed Uniswap v3 liquidity positions across 9 pools over roughly 700 days, decomposing each outcome into impermanent loss and collected fees - [IL_Measurement](https://github.com/ThanosDrossos/IL_Measurement): code and data for the paper — reproduces every figure from committed data - [PromptSensitivityFI](https://github.com/ThanosDrossos/PromptSensitivityFI): ongoing KIT research developing Functional Information (FI_in), an information-theoretic measure of how much a language model's answer changes when a question is paraphrased but its meaning is not ## Selected projects - [DrawingIQ](https://github.com/ThanosDrossos/drawing-intelligence): turns an archive of ~11,000 engineering drawings into something you can ask questions of — a vision LLM and a deterministic parser extract a structured record from each sheet, and a tool-using agent answers over the result while citing the drawings behind every claim; extraction quality is scored against a gold set - [DriveTSLM](https://github.com/ThanosDrossos/DriveTSLM): an agent over automotive crash telemetry in which every quantitative claim must cite the tool result it came from, enforced by an automatic citation checker and measured by an evaluation harness - [JawClenchingProject](https://github.com/ThanosDrossos/JawClenchingProject): a wearable that detects nocturnal jaw clenching from forehead EMG, with a per-user linear SVM running on an Arduino (KIT Ubiquitous Computing, WS 2025/26) - DORAutomation (private): tooling that automates compliance workflows for the EU Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) ## Key facts - Education: M.Sc.
